Challenge

Alarm Fatigue: A global data center and cloud services provider experienced hundreds of thousands of alarms generated by their old security system over the course of 7 months, which ended up masking two real threats due to alarm fatigue.

Quanergy Solution

A solution consisting of MQ-8 3D LiDAR sensors and QORTEX perception software, integrated with the customer’s Video Management System. The MQ-8 flexible installation and configuration enabled the Data Center to deploy sensors over a very diverse terrain, with diverse elevations and slopes.

Outcome

Quanergy’s solution was the only one out of close to 20 technologies (including cameras, radars, video analytics, etc) that was able to pass an extensive 18 months test aimed at defeating the system. This test entailed a team of veteran physical & cyber security personnel who ran hundreds of intrusion attempts by jumping over fences, digging tunnels below lakes, lowering buckets from drones to block sensors, etc.

Quanergy’s highly accurate solution exponentially reduced the false alarm rate to less than 10 per day and detected all true intrusion attempts attempted by the aforementioned security personnel.
