Find the Future of Physical Security in 3D LiDAR

Physical security is an evolving proposition. Port Security
Ports provide major points of entry to a country, and play a pivotal role in national security. A South Korean port was leveraging a camera based system (a series of optical sensors integrated with PTZ cameras), but the deployment was vulnerable to atmospheric conditions, like wind, snow, or rain, creating false alarms and leading to wasted resources on these nonexistent threats. Furthermore, the optical sensors were installed with a limited field of vision and lacking in the delivery of real time situational assessment.

The South Korean facility opted for LiDAR technology that was an easy to manage, fully automated solution that provided highly accurate results in adverse conditions, real-time tracking and analysis, low rate of false alarms, and long term value. The 45 M8 Series LiDAR sensors paired with the QORTEX DTC ™ (Detection, Tracking, and Classification) software provided 98% accuracy.

Oil & Gas
Quanergy deployed a LiDAR-based Perimeter Intrusion Detection (PID) system to support a large oil and gas company with continuous fence links spanning hilly terrain across more than 3 kilometers. To say “geometry” was an issue for previous deployments would be an understatement. The existing microwave-based system couldn’t properly monitor bends in the fence or function near metal pipelines, so the company turned to IR sensors to plug the gaps. The dual deployment was expensive, and still ineffective. Quanergy’s QORTEX DTC™ delivered real-time sensor data analysis and target geolocation for a rapid response and met the customer request of centimeter-level accuracy.
The QORTEX solution intrusion alarms and PSIM (Physical Security Information Management) software are integrated and offer fully automated security monitoring by controlling PTZ cameras, tracking objects and robust map visualization. Intruder detection extended well beyond the customer-required 10-meter-wide buffer along the fence.
