The candidate chosen will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing engineering at Quanergy as well as the contract manufacturers (CMs). Lead activities related to all manufacturing engineering, automation and ensuring successful transition of product from development into manufacturing. This position requires strong product engineering experience, operations efficiency excellence, adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic and fast growing environment.


  • Lead and manage manufacturing engineering team based in Sunnyvale, CA as well as activities at the CMs in Asia to achieve excellent performance in all aspects of production.
  • Work with Product Development (PD) towards successful new product launches and high volume production ramps at Quanergy and the CMs
  • Develop and grow a strong, process-driven operations team in Asia
  • Develop and drive OKRs and KPIs with strong cross-functional and corporate alignment
  • Consistently achieve high on-time product delivery goals with excellent quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams on optimal inventory management
  • Achieve product cost down targets through product engineering such as yield improvement, alternative parts and design, and efficiency improvement through automation
  • Participate in qualification of new CMs in order to meet company growth objectives
  • Effectively and efficiently transfer product from pilot production to CMs on time and on budget
  • Partner with Quality to drive improvements in product quality to reduce RMAs
  • Identify root cause of quality issues through thorough analysis with supporting data and eliminate them
  • Partner with Development Teams to improve NPI processes and ensure smooth and efficient transfer of product to production with high quality
  • Improve product performance
  • Perform other tasks as required


  • 10+ years leadership experience leading and developing supply chain organizations.
  • Applicable experience in a technical field. Proven track record of developing teams and effectively working in a cross functional environment.
  • Proven experience managing CMs and suppliers internationally driving cost and efficiencies.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher desired.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum ten years of experience in engineering management in a technical industry
  • Experience with LiDAR’s, Lasers or relevant industries strongly desired


  • Naturally curious, hands on with a sense of urgency
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Strong analytic and planning skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and process control is a must
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and process establishment, best practices and procedures in a technical industry is a must
  • Process, systems and data driven
  • Good balance between strategic and tactical approach
  • Willingness to travel locally or internationally as needed
  • Able to effectively work cross functionally
