Karen is an experienced CEO, director and strategic advisor with a deep knowledge of corporate governance and a strong track record of successfully building companies and businesses across multiple industries. She is a visionary leader with strong strategic, marketing, technology and management skills, with extensive experience in the transportation sector.
Karen currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Vontier which provides mobility infrastructure solutions globally and was a $3 billion spin-off from Fortive Corporation. In addition, Karen currently serves as a board director for private and public companies including TuSimple, Nauto and Wind River, and she serves as a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital. Karen previously served as a board director for AutoNation, Hanover Insurance Group and Telenav. Karen has held multiple board chair and committee leadership roles, including lead independent director, is a Certified Board Governance Fellow and was named “Top 50 Corporate Director in 2019” by the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Karen’s executive career includes roles as Chairman and CEO of AcademixDirect from 2009 to 2014, and Chairman and CEO of Publicis & Hal Riney from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, Karen served as General Manager of the $8 billion Oldsmobile Division of General Motors and as a Vice President of Ford Motor Company. Her earlier career experience includes roles at Procter & Gamble and Bain & Company.
Karen holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and holds a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College, where she served for nine years on the Board of Trustees.
Also, in August, we welcomed Jerry Allison as our new General Counsel. Jerry has 25 years of experience leading legal functions for global technology companies. Jerry spent much of his career with Amkor Technology, a publicly traded provider of semiconductor packaging and test services with $5.5 billion of annual revenue.
In June, Quanergy entered into a definitive merger agreement with CITIC Capital Acquisition Corp. (NYSE: CCAC) (“CCAC”). Upon closing of the transaction, the combined company will be named Quanergy Systems, Inc. and is expected to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol “QNGY.” The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
Karen’s appointment as a fourth independent Board member enables alignment with NYSE board composition requirements.
