Quanergy, SFMTA to Showcase Solution for Improving Transit System

SAN JOSE, Calif.  – June 17, 2022 – Executives from Quanergy Solutions, Inc., the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and TNL USA will present a webinar to discuss how the three parties worked together to improve the transit system and reduce travel times. They’ll also look at how these efforts are contributing to the agency’s overall efficiency, sustainability and safety goals.

The SFMTA deployed Quanergy’s 3D-powered LiDAR solution to reduce travel time for the city’s light rail vehicles and thereby decrease congestion and traffic-related air pollution while also improving pedestrian safety. 

Results so far include:

• Reduction of travel time per light rail vehicle by 66 seconds, decreasing overall travel time by 16%
• Improved chance that a train will reach an intersection at a green light by over 20%
