Quanergy Unveils QORTEX™ 2.0 LiDAR Perception Software at Global Security Exchange 2019

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – September 10, 2019 – Quanergy Systems, Inc., a leading provider of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensors and smart sensing solutions, today released the next generation of its proprietary perception software platform, QORTEX 2.0. Quanergy will showcase the new features at the upcoming Global Security Exchange Conference (GSX) in Chicago, Illinois, September 8-12, 2019.

QORTEX is a core proprietary perception software platform compatible with Quanergy’s suite of LiDAR sensors. The flexible and scalable platform uses machine learning and 3D perception algorithms to enable an entirely new level of smart awareness across various industries and applications including security, smart cities, transportation, and industrial automation.

The multiple new features of QORTEX 2.0 include the support of people and vehicle detection, tracking and classification, more efficient processing and improved performance, acceleration and directional information, and server configuration API to enable the development of customized QORTEX interfaces. Additionally, the new system has been redesigned with a more user-friendly interface and is now compatible with Windows 10.

QORTEX DTC™ (Detection, Tracking, Classification): The QORTEX DTC™ Solution is a highly intelligent and integrated hardware and software platform. The solution utilizes Quanergy’s patented M8™ LiDAR sensor and can detect, classify, and measure the position, velocity, and orientation of individual objects, including people and vehicles. The solution has up to 95% detection accuracy at a centimeter-level and offers up to 100m of continuous tracking. Multi-LiDAR Fusion™ allows multiple sensors to be used in conjunction with each other to provide additional range and coverage. The system is designed to integrate into existing security infrastructure and can automatically control PTZ camera movement and sound alarms. It is also compatible with various Video Management Software (VMS), such as Milestone.

QORTEX Object Profiling: The QORTEX Object Profiling solution uses Quanergy’s S3-2 solid state LiDAR sensor to scan objects, analyze the point cloud and provide users with detailed information on the object’s characteristics. The people counting solution, which is the solution’s newest development, is ideal for situations in which queue management and access control must be closely monitored and can help easily understand the occupancy and traffic within an area.
