Challenge: Designing a Living Digital Environment That Reacts to People Here
A leading global investment management firm set out to redefine the workplace experience in its New York offices introducing “Dreamwall” – an interactive digital art display, integrating cutting-edge generative AI models, motion sensors, and interactive triggers, the Dreamwall enhances engagement and creates a dynamic workplace experience. The custom-trained AI engine delivers poetic visual storytelling, incorporating artistic prompts that naturally evolve over time.
Instead of relying on numerous intrusive video cameras or static triggers, the firm needed a solution that allows:
• Reliable detection and tracking of individuals throughout the area adjacent to Dreamwall without compromising privacy.
• Integrate seamlessly with ultra-wide immersive LED panels.
• Enable a responsive and evolving AI-driven art experience.
Solution: A LiDAR-Powered Interactive Digital Dreamscape

To bring this vision to life, the firm partnered with Gensler for interior design and AI-driven digital wall development and with Quanergy Solutions Inc. to provide the sensing backbone of the experience. Leveraging Quanergy’s 3D LiDAR technology, the installation eliminated the need for 28 traditional video cameras, replacing them with just three high-performance LiDAR sensors.
These LiDAR sensors provided:
• Anonymized people tracking with sub-centimeter accuracy.
• Real-time spatial awareness across a corridor longer than a city block.
• 360° continuous coverage and high reliability in any lighting or environmental condition.
Each time an individual was detected, Quanergy’s LiDAR would trigger generative visual content on a 240-foot-long Direct View LED wall. The display, powered by AI and trained on over 12,000 curated images, responded dynamically to movement, turning each person’s passage into a unique visual story.
Result: A Living, Breathing Corridor of AI-Generated Art
The result is Dreamwall, a responsive corridor of light, movement, and story. Every two minutes, new AI-generated visuals unfold across the display. Visitors are greeted with evolving “dream” scenes that change based on their presence and location, creating a continuous, non-repeating experience throughout the day.
