With a longer range than other compact sensors on the market you can see objects with low reflectivity (10%) out to 6 meters and 16 meters for high reflective objects (80%).

Furthermore, the F540 has an excellent field-of-view, 110°x 90° (horiz. x vert.), so you get excellent coverage with a single sensor.
