We’re excited to share that the Quanergy M1 Edge PoE LiDAR sensors now deliver seamless integration with Motorola Solutions’ Avigilon Unity (versions 7.x–8.x) through our Q-Track Bridge connector. This opens up new possibilities for smarter, more responsive security across a variety of use cases.
Why This Matters
In many security environments such as rooftops, fence lines, data centers, critical infrastructure, threats often come from small or hard-to-see objects. Traditional detection systems (radar, beam sensors, etc.) can struggle with accuracy or yield too many false alarms.
By marrying Quanergy’s 2D LiDAR capabilities with Avigilon Unity, users can:
- Push LiDAR detection events directly into Unity
- See objects that are too small or too close for other sensors, with high angular resolution
- Define up to 128 detection zones that match real-world geometry (roof slopes, setbacks, overhangs, etc.)
- Respond faster thanks to unified alarm event handling in Unity
What You Can Do with It
Some concrete examples where this integration shines:
- Rooftop and indoor intrusion detection — catch someone climbing up or entering through skylights
- Data center security — monitor cabinet access or rack incursions
- Virtual perimeter fencing — detect objects thrown over fences or people scaling them
- Drone-related threats — spot items dropped near sensitive areas like prisons, substations, or telecom sites
- Critical infrastructure defense — apply detection strategies at oil & gas sites, transit hubs, remote facilities
Tech Highlights
- High angular resolution: detect small objects reliably
- Single-cable installation via PoE: cleaner installs, lower cost
- Flexible detection zones: up to 16 evaluation fields, many zones per field
- Software synergy via QORTEX Aware: up to 128 zones, anomaly tracking, and more
Once the M1 Edge PoE streams detections into Unity via the Q-Track Bridge, operators see alarm events alongside video, making assessments faster and more intuitive.
“With Q-Track Bridge supporting Avigilon Unity, we’re bringing LiDAR-based awareness directly into the platforms people already use every day. It lets security teams detect rooftop access, perimeter breaches, or even drone-dropped objects all within the familiar Unity environment.”
