Casino Security and Guest Flow with 3D LiDAR

Quanergy 3D LiDAR tracks every guest across the gaming floor, entrances and queues in real time, anonymously and in any light. Security sees where people are and where they are going. Operations and marketing see how the floor is really used.

The challenge

Cameras see pictures, not flow

Surveillance cameras record images, but they cannot tell operators how guests move through the property, where crowds build, or how long lines really are. Door counters stop at the door.

3D LiDAR adds the missing layer. Every guest gets an anonymous track with centimeter-level position, direction and speed, across entrances, the gaming floor, queues and restricted areas.

Security gets real-time alerts and PTZ hand-off in the VMS. Operations and marketing get journey, dwell and occupancy data they have never been able to capture with cameras alone.

Use cases

Six ways 3D LiDAR works for casinos

One sensing layer for surveillance, operations and marketing.

Gaming floor analytics

See how the floor is really used

Heat maps, paths and dwell time show which games and areas draw guests, and which sit empty.

Entrances and occupancy

Count every guest in and out

Live occupancy for the property and each section of the floor, compared against past periods.

Queues and service

Open the next line before it backs up

Queue length and wait time at check-in, the cage and restaurants, so staff respond as lines build.

Surveillance support

Follow movement across the floor

Continuous anonymous tracks feed the VMS, so surveillance can follow a person of interest across camera views.

Protect rooftops and private zones

Detect people in rooftops, service areas and private residences, and objects thrown from the hotel.

On an alert, Q-TRACK sends real-time coordinates to PTZ cameras so operators verify in seconds.

How it works

Detect. Track. Classify. Alert.

Quanergy 3D LiDAR measures millions of 3D points per second. QORTEX DTC perception software detects, tracks and classifies every object, then sends alerts your existing security stack can act on.

  1. 1

    Detect

360° 3D LiDAR covers wide areas with minimal blind spots, in any light or weather, including total darkness.

  2. 2

    Track

QORTEX DTC follows every object with centimeter-level position, speed and direction, tracking up to 1,000 objects at once.

  3. 3

    Classify

People and vehicles are classified by size and movement. Anything else is reported as an unclassified object, so alarms can be set on people and vehicles only.

  4. 4

    Alert

Configurable 3D zones trigger real-time alerts and PTZ slew-to-cue, sent to your VMS and security operations center.

FAQ

Casino security and guest flow with 3D LiDAR: common questions

How is 3D LiDAR used in casinos?

Quanergy 3D LiDAR tracks guests anonymously across entrances, the gaming floor, queues and restricted areas. Security uses the tracks for real-time alerts and PTZ hand-off in the VMS, and operations and marketing use them for occupancy, journey, dwell and heat map analytics.

Does LiDAR identify guests or capture faces?

No. Quanergy 3D LiDAR captures 3D points, not images or faces, so guests are tracked anonymously and no personally identifiable information is collected.

What does a casino floor look like in LiDAR?

Every guest appears as an anonymous 3D track with position, direction and speed. Slot banks, tables and fixtures appear as static geometry, so operators see how guests move across the floor without capturing faces.

Does it work with our surveillance cameras and VMS?

Yes. Q-TRACK integrates with leading VMS platforms and sends real-time coordinates to PTZ cameras, so surveillance can follow movement across camera views.

Can LiDAR help with lines at check-in and the cage?

Yes. LiDAR measures queue length and wait time in real time, so staff can open another line before guests wait too long.

Does it work on a dim gaming floor?

Yes. LiDAR provides its own illumination, so tracking does not depend on lighting levels on the floor or outdoors at night.
